A Letter from Margaret

Dear Friends,

I hope you are all keeping well.

As correspondence clerk I thought I would send you a short note about what has been happening at the Meeting House since we reopened in May 2021.

It has been lovely to be able to attend Meetings in person again, knowing that we are as safe as we can be because of Michael’s diligent work in implementing the Covid requirements. Having the large screen installed has been a boon, allowing us to hold blended Meetings. Since it was first installed, the system has been tweaked and improved resulting visual and sound coverage that is excellent.

Changing to a 3/4 hour Meeting has worked very well and left time for those attending in person to have refreshments. Moreover we have also been able to have some interesting discussions on various topics. I have to admit that during lock down I have missed having this kind of interaction.

Our 3MG craft group is meeting again and that also has involved the companionship, chat and discussion we have lacked during lockdown.

In a few weeks we will be hosting an Elders Pastoral Meeting. In March we are hosting the Area Meeting for Business as a blended Meeting in the Meeting House.

As you can see, we are beginning to open up more and welcome other groups and Friends into the Meeting house.

As the months move on and we are starting to reclaim our lives, we hope that more of our Friends will feel able to come to Meeting once more.

Yours in Friendship

Margaret Hughes

Just to say….I had healing here about 25 years ago(Tuesday)…..and everyone was SO kind. I believe healing still occurs (now a Wednesday) and I need it AGAIN! I always found healing was truly peaceful and hopeful and really made the difference in my hours of need. Hopefully I will be there on Wednesday….even then it was a really positive view of Quakers…….and to find healing is STILL in operation is just great. Bless you all.
